Paul Jackson - Studio Potter
The unique character of Paul Jackson's work derives from two inter-related processes. Each piece is first thrown on the wheel, then subtly altered in form - giving the pot an individual character and strength defined by a journey of discovery. The journey continues during decoration, where the pot's elegance and sense of balance grow directly out of Paul's concern for harmony between form, colour, and the painted surface. |

Peter Hayes
By building up textured clays combined with burnishing and polishing the surface, Peter achieves opposites of rough and smooth with finishes from weathered clay to sun baked leather. The use of a variety of different clays allows him a scope on which to work giving each piece it's own individual status. Peter's latest work involves melting copper onto the laminated clay surfaces and tossing the molten pieces into sawdust. |

Pots by Chris Prindl
The feeling of my pots comes from my childhood and later apprenticeship spent in Japan. I do not specifically try to make Japanese-style work but my sense of line and strength is quite Eastern. As well as chopping huge amounts of wood, I studied a variety of styles and firing techniques in Japan which has informed my desire to make a wide range of pieces. I try to make shapes which are good to use and feel good to hold - small pots with delicacy, big ones with power. |

Richard Slee's career as a studio ceramist now spans over thirty years. His ceramics are intrinsically about the domestic interior. There are references in his work to the decorative, the ornamental and the symbolic both from the past and in our contemporary culture. Although these sources are eclectic they are skilfully brought together and inevitably translated through the medium of ceramics. |
