Barnbarroch Pottery

A range of domestic earthenware by Christine Smith using traditional slipware techniques as well as a variety of one off pieces - from cheerfully decorated salad bowls and hanging plates, to thrown and assembled animal forms.
The inspiration for the pottery comes mainly from birds, animals and human activities, which are incorporated into colourful, lively and often humorous designs.

I am presently working towards my MA at Bath School of Art, Bath Spa University, and am due to finish in September 09.
My ceramic practice is exploring areas of trust, energy, strength and scale, pushing the physicality of the build with clay towards the creation of larger scale free standing forms. Please take a look at my web site to see work in progress and use the contact page to get in touch if you would like any more information.
