Patricia Shone - wood fired & raku fired ceramics
(1 vote)
Patricia Shone uses combinations of hand building and throwing to make her highly textured work. Colours are developed by a variety of firing methods; from low temperature raku to oxidised earthenware and recently wood fired to get to stoneware temperatures with locally grown fuel. This, along with a growing interest in throwing and function, has brought her work closer to its source, the land and how we live upon it. ‘I am influenced by my environment, by the communities and culture of the place and by the traces an individual can leave upon the landscape.’ Visitors are welcome at the studio on the Isle of Skye. Please telephone for directions.
